As time passes our skin shows the natural, inevitable signs of aging - wrinkles, sagging, sun damage. But you can counteract those effects with several non-surgical cosmetic procedures available at our practice, including Botox and injectable fillers such as collagen and Restylane to smooth lines and wrinkles and raise sunken areas; chemical peels to reduce blemishes and scarring and produce fresh, glowing skin; and sclerotherapy for the treatment of spider and varicose veins. Ear piercing is also available at Bella Skin Institute. We make sure that your piercing is placed just where you want it.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® may also be useful for excessive sweating.
Did you know that Dr. Anna Guanche is an expert in specialized uses for BOTOX®? With over 7 years of experience, she is able to do more than just smooth the brow, crow's feet and frown lines. She is able to provide a chemical browlift, flip downturned corners of the mouth, reduce lines on the upper lip due to pursing, and even treat excessive sweating, otherwise known as hyperhidrosis.

Dysport is an FDA-approved injection treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Dysport injections are made from the bacterium Clostridum botulinum, the same protein used in Botox injections.
Juvéderm™ Injectable Gel
Bella Skin Institute has been chosen by Allergan as one of the first practices to make Juvederm available to you!
Juvéderm is an injectable gel that gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow's feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also "plump up" the lips, sculpt the cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face. It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin. Because it is non-animal-based and highly biocompatible, no pre-treatment testing is needed. Juvéderm comes in three formulas optimized for the depth of the area being treated. Results last about 6-9 months and can be made to last even longer with a simple follow-up treatment a few weeks after the initial injection.
Sculptra is an injectable used for the restoration of collagen and the correction of volume loss. The benefits of Sculptra are not immediately apparent; the body slowly responds to the injection by building up collagen around the area, producing fuller, younger looking skin. After a series of injections (usually three treatment sessions) the effects can last up to three years before retreatment is needed.
Is Sculptra safe?
The Sculptra material is absorbed once it has produced its regenerative effect and does not persist in the body. The active substance is poly-L-lactic acid, an extremely safe compound that has been used in dissolvable stitches for the past ten years.
Who most benefits from Sculptra?
The cosmetic effects of Sculptra are used for both smoothing out facial wrinkles of older patients but also restoring normal facial firmness to patients who have facial volume loss (hollowing of temples, cheeks) or very thin, translucent skin.
Sculptra is also an ideal choice for individuals who would like to have their skin rejuvenated but want to do so in a subtle manner. The extended time it takes for the dermis to build itself up allows for a sly transition as opposed to other methods which are apparent immediately after leaving the doctor\'s office.
Sculptra Aesthetic works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments administered by a Sculptra trained physician. On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.
Sculptra Aesthetic works within the deep dermis
Within the deep dermis, your skin\'s structure is reinforced as Sculptra Aesthetic helps to replace lost collagen. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that graduallyrestores the look of fullness of your shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds*that has been depleted over time. The result? Sculptra Aesthetic is different because it gradually and subtly corrects these facial wrinkles. This can provide arefined, more youthful looking appearance that can last up to two years.
Radiesse™
Formerly known as Radience, Radiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body's natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from the same minerals found in our bones, so it carries little risk of allergic reaction (unlike collagen) - just one of its advantages over alternative treatments. Radiesse can be used on many areas of the body; the most commonly treated are nasolabial folds, peri-oral lines, depressed scars and oral commissures.
Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for months or years, although the procedure can be repeated as often as you wish.
Dr. Guanche is one of few doctors using Radiesse for non-surgical cheek augmentation. This provides higher, fuller cheeks and restores volume to the face in all the right places. Dr. Guanche has been featured on "Ten Years Younger," LA Times, and KTLA News doing this advanced injectable procedure.
Restylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months.
Restylane can be used to plump the lips or just give them definition. This eliminates lines crossing the lip border and produces a more youthful, voluptuous appearance.
Perlane® is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips and contour the cheeks and chin. Made by the same company that produces Restylane®, Perlane contains purified hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to keep the skin smooth and supple. It is hypoallergenic and so does not require a pre-treatment skin test. With its unique ability to bind with water, Perlane continues to perform up to 60% longer than collagen.
Chemical Peel
Dr. Guanche performs peels of all depths-from the very superficial Jessner's peel that addresses fine lines and dyspigmentation to the deepest TCA peels (35-40%) that address coarse wrinkles and acne scars.
Microdermabrasion improves mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems. We are using a revolutionary state-of-the-art particle free system to exfoliate the outer layer of skin and provide a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. The particles scrape away the surface layer of aging or damaged skin, which is then brushed off with the microdermabrasion vacuum tool with no need for anesthesia. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin renewal procedures, such as laser treatment and chemical peels. Multiple treatments are recommended for full effect.
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for varicose and spider veins. A hypertonic saline is injected into the diseased vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin surface. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins and prevents further complications.
