Lasers make it possible to perform high-precision, needle-free and often painless procedures to remove unwanted hair, wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, vascular lesions (for example birthmarks, moles, spider and varicose veins) and tattoos. Below is an overview of the laser procedures we offer to give you healthier, younger-looking skin.
Fraxel™ is finally here! Now you can rejuvenate the face, neck, chest, hands -- almost any area -- with minimal down-time. Stretch marks and acne scars beware!
Fraxel™ is a unique noninvasive laser therapy designed to dramatically improve skin texture and pigmentation, including the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, and sun damage. Fraxel™ utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light. The treatment delivers a series of microscopic laser spots, while simultaneously preserving areas of unaffected, healthy skin. The healthy cells in the untouched spots promote rapid healing of the entire area, resulting in faster recovery time and minimal side effects. The result is softer, smoother and healthier skin without an uncomfortable healing period.
Laser skin resurfacing, commonly called a laser peel, removes the outer, often damaged layer of skin for a smoother, younger look. Laser resurfacing can reduce the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven pigmentation and superficial scarring, usually on the face. The procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to two hours depending on the size and severity of the area being treated and whether it is combined with other procedures such as eyelid surgery for even more dramatic results.
Whether for hygienic or cosmetic reasons, the patient who is tired of temporary, often painful methods of removing unwanted hair may welcome laser and intense pulsed light hair removal with relief.
Lasers produce highly focused, intense beams of light that are absorbed by dark pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin's surface and converted to heat, destroying the follicles and preventing hair growth for up to two years. Multiple treatments are required for complete hair removal -- the follicle must be "active" at the time of treatment, and not all follicles are active at the same time. Treatments are needle-free and do not require anesthesia. Most patients feel nothing more than a slight sting like the snap of a rubber band.

The Vbeam pulsed dye laser system is designed to safely treat a multitude of vascular skin conditions. The Vbeam is a non-ablative laser that produces an intense but gentle burst of light that selectively destroys the blood vessels of your vascular lesion(s), without damaging the surrounding skin and tissue.
The Vbeam can effectively treat the following skin conditions: rosacea, facial veins, leg veins, scars, psoriasis, red birthmarks (hemangiomas and port wine stains), angiomas, Poikiloderma of Civatte (uneven coloring of the neck and chest), venous lakes, red stretchmarks and warts. The Vbeam is also a wonderful tool for treatment of wrinkles (skin rejuvenation).
Perfecta can do it all from rejuvenation by correcting red and brown skin discoloration, to eliminating virtually all vascular and pigmented lesions. The Perfecta Laser uses a new technology called Micropulse to allow more power delivery with minimized bruising and in many cases no bruising at all.
Thermage™ is a quick, easy and non-invasive alternative to a face lift. Using painless radiofrequency energy, Thermage "lifts" and tightens loose and sagging skin to restore youthful vigor to patients' faces. The Thermage device stimulates collagen production and temporarily reduces wrinkles while keeping the skin surface cool and comfortable. There is no incision or recovery time. Results last about two years-much longer than you can expect from BOTOX® or tissue fillers like collagen.
Patients are quickly recognizing the amazing benefits of non-invasive LED light therapy, making LIGHTWAVE one of the hottest and most requested skin care treatments.
Blue light therapy is effective for all types of acne, penetrating molecules within skin that cause Proprionobacterium acnes bacteria to grow. These molecules react to the Blue light therapy by producing free radicals that inactivate the bacteria. Great for reducing redness and inflammation in the skin. May be added on to acne facials for better results. Blue light can also be used to activate Levulan in photodynamic therapy.
This affordable method of rejuvenation with red light therapy effectively re-energizes aging and damaged skin by stimulating the cellular renewal response from deep within the tissue to repair and renew tired damaged cells and stimulate the rejuvenation process that takes place to achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy skin.
These are soothing and relaxing treatments where the patient is placed under the LED light source with goggles on. Red and Blue treatments may be combined.
No- pain or discomfort No- down time No- thermal damage No- scarring or discoloration
For your convenience these treatments may be scheduled over lunch and even on some Saturdays.
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) uses light and a light-sensitive dye to treat active acne. It is also being tested for the treatment of bacterial infection and skin conditions such as psoriasis. During the procedure, a photosensitized dye or drug is applied to the problem area, which is then exposed to pulses of a narrow-wavelength beam of laser light. The dye absorbs this light and produces an active form of oxygen that aids in shrinking oil glands and temporarily reducing oil production. PDT ensures high precision by targeting only the tissue in and near the treatment area.
Bella Skin Institute now offers the cutting-edge technology that involves no cutting. No incision, no down-time procedure that reduces unwanted fatty deposits. Great for reducing unwanted bulges in the upper and lower abdomen, love handles, back, inner and outer thighs.
The CoolSculpting system utilizes a patented method called Cryolipolysis (the use of precisely controlled cooling to remove fat) that is designed to only kill fat cells. Cryolipolysis is the latest in a series of innovations that originated at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, a teaching affiliate for Harvard Medical School.
Within several days the destroyed fat cells begin to shrink, and are then digested by and removed from the body through metabolic processes. Usually within two to four months, patients see a reduction in the area of fat targeted and an improvement in body contour.
The CoolSculpting procedure involves the use of an applicator that cools the fat cells in the targeted area of your body for a simple, natural fat removal process. An applicator cup is then attached to deliver a gentle vacuum pressure that draws tissue between the cooling panels
The treated fat cells are removed though natural metabolic processes within the body, similar to the way fat from food is removed. This allows for a gradual reduction in fat from targeted areas to create a slimmer, more defined appearance. The CoolSculpting procedure usually takes two or more hours to perform, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Results of CoolSculpting
The results of the CoolSculpting procedure are usually visible two to four months after treatment, and will continue to improve for up to six months. Although these results are not as rapid as those achieved through liposuction, patients undergoing CoolSculpting can avoid the pain, risks and lengthy recovery times associated with these more invasive procedures.
Most patients who undergo CoolSculpting are highly satisfied with the results of their procedure and are able to enjoy a natural, slimmer appearance. While no long-term studies are currently available, the results of CoolSculpting are expected to last about as long as fat reduction achieved through traditional liposuction procedures.
CoolSculpting is non-surgical. No needles, incisions, pain relievers, or recovery time are needed. Risky side effects are not a problem. The procedure is performed in Dr. Guanche's office, and when it is finished the patient can resume his or her normal life without missing a beat.
